Hsihu Sunset

One evening, the Supreme Master Ching Hai was inspired, and set up Her drawing board on the large balcony in front of the Glass House in Miaoli, Hsihu, Formosa. As the evening sun descended, Master painted swiftly using a few random strokes. The landscape and the sunset took their shape.

In less than five minutes, dusk had turned into darkness, and Master also stopped painting. Half of the picture was still unpainted. In delight, Master asked the monastic and lay disciples to take a look at the moody beauty of the sunset. Besides the sounds of exclamation and admiration, everyone was speechless. It was not until the retreat in Pingtung that the painting was finally finished.
