On
a wooden dock resting on a serene lake in the Western United States,
with colored chalks in Her hand, the Supreme Master Ching Hai relaxed
in the serene surroundings of beautiful lakes and mountains. To be
able to do what She enjoys is a welcome but rare diversion from Her
busy schedule. The Supreme Master Ching Hai said She wanted to capture
the peacefulness and serenity of this location on canvas. The breeze
from the lake gently caressed Master's clothes. With quick and light,
deft strokes, "Love Source" was created.
In
the center, occupying the greatest space in the picture is the flowing
water, like the mind of one who is overflowing with love. On the banks
of the water, tucked away in the woods is an occasional log cabin,
a dwelling place for the people dependent upon the lake for its water.
The Supreme Master Ching Hai mentioned that all great civilizations
were born near bodies of water. Master's painting idealizes the perfect
community, for the distance between each cabin is enough to offer
privacy for its inhabitants, yet close enough for them to be supportive
of each other.
