Aphorisms

Meditation doesn’t change the world; it changes you.
And then if everyone changes himself,
the world becomes peaceful.

~ The Supreme Master Ching Hai ~

Initiation is meant to remind you of your greatest inheritance, and then you can make use of your treasure every day instead of relying on any Master at all, whether dead or alive. That is the purpose of our Method of practice, and there is no other purpose besides that.

Every time we meditate, we thank God first, we pray for the less fortunate, and then we remember God with all the sweetness and devotion.

After initiation, we still have to renew our connection with God again and again, or else we’ll suffer from the illusion of being less than children of God. So we each have to be reminded again because every day we spend about eighteen to twenty hours in the world, where everyone else in society, even our friends and relatives, remind us that we’re mere mortals, that we’re weak, we’re physical, we’re nothing. So we have to spend at least two-and-a-half hours, one tenth of our time, reminding ourselves, “No, no: I’m God’s child. I’m a spiritual being; I’m great.” That’s the time we spend reminding ourselves, counteracting the world’s pressure so that we don’t let people convince us that we’re merely weak human beings; that’s why we have to meditate each day. Otherwise once you get initiated, that would be enough; you’d be Buddha: finished, final.

When we meditate, we try to ignore our weaknesses and sins, and try to concentrate on the purity of the True Self; on the higher note.

When we meditate, or we remember God, our thoughts are holy, pure and unconditional, so we don’t create anything bad; only holy vibrations and powerful blessings. So when these powerful blessings and thought power are generated around us and within our environment, then it’s raised up. Then other people, who are holy and practicing, also generate the same thought, same blessing and the same power. Like attracts like, and when these attract each other they become a very powerful force which defeats all the evil, negative influence in this world. That’s how the world will become purified and improved day by day. That’s how we help the world without having to do charity work and without having to go out and preach.

As you know, we don’t use 95 percent of our brainpower. In this 95 percent of the brain lie a lot of secrets, a lot of treasures, and a lot of bliss, happiness, and wisdom.

Meditation is meant to help us dig out the 95 percent of our dormant ability, to trim and polish it, and to take it out and use it.

We don’t need to wait a year to take a one-month vacation, because our body will already be too exhausted, and our mind will be too tired to enjoy even that period of rest. We do not need to wait until our body is exhausted and our mind is very much abused and worn out in order to go on a vacation. We can do it every day by sitting in meditation. That’s why most of us experience so-called unhappy feelings in life and are unsatisfied. We do not give ourselves the time to rest. We think we are resting when we sleep. That’s fine. That’s also resting, but it’s not enough, because we are unconscious like in death at that time. But if we meditate, we are consciously aware of our greatness, of our communion with the great Source of the universe. And we are part of it. We are connected with the whole universal power. That’s why we become strong, patient, and wise, and then we can do many wonders. We no longer have to use our limited individual power to do our daily work even. Our daily work will be taken care of, watched over and blessed by this universal power.

When we are connected with Heaven through meditation, or deep prayers, in a sincere longing to know the will of God, we will be able to serve the world in a better light. The light from Heaven, which comes through meditation, will be able to shine on our path, in whichever path we choose to serve the world.

We should practice for the sake of wisdom alone; for the sake of knowing ourselves; for the sake of knowing the origin of our home; and to be free, loving and happy. That’s all there is.

Even if I tell you all the answers in the world, what is that for? Just try to ask yourself, meditate yourself, and everything will be clear. When you talk to other people and they ask you questions, you should just pray to the inner wisdom and everything will work out. Pray to the inner master and you will know many things. The more you use the inner wisdom, the more you will know that you know. You don’t always have to rely on me, on the physical master. You will learn quickly to become a master because you have the master inside. So, rely on yourself.

Please remember to do the Quan Yin according to the proper proportions. The Quan Yin is the one to clean. Sometimes people sit there and they don’t do the Quan Yin. In that case, they cannot progress very quickly. Also, try to check your thoughts. If you check your thoughts, there is no bad speech and there are no bad deeds. If one thought arises and you check it immediately, it will not come out of your mouth or result in action. So, thought is important. Don’t follow your passion or your thoughts, in your mind. You remind each other. The precepts begin from your thoughts. Purity begins from your thoughts. So, check your own thinking.

It’s not meditation that protects you. It’s the awakening of your own power within that protects you. It’s knowing that you’re God that protects you.

Meditation is the answer. Meditation is sleeping while waking, sleeping without sleeping, and through it we find all the answers we need to know about life and death, about how to deal with our daily life, our family relationships and our financial business. We don’t fear the end of the world, we don’t fear recession and we don’t fear having no job, because at that time we know how to work according to the situation without standing there stamping our feet or waiting for something that is not in our share. We’re happy, and we can find a resolution to any problem that we face, every day. We’re happy in all circumstances, and many sicknesses and sorrows will just leave us. And all our worldly desires will also gradually say goodbye. This is the only solution to every problem.
