Painted Face Movie
Commentary by Supreme Master Ching Hai What we earn we will feel proud of. Most of the money you earn yourself, you will know how to spend and you'll cherish it. But most of the spoiled princesses like the people who were born with a silver or golden spoon, they don't know how to deal with true life. Really! They sometimes are so spoiled that they even damage the property of their ancestors - burn it, waste it. There are some heavenly beings who never come to this world. They don't need to perhaps. Actually because the Father also needs someone there. Cannot send all down here. Perhaps that's why. Even when God gives us the opportunity to be in this world, we actually want to be tested. The harder the situation, the more challenging. It's only test and trials. So that the individual soul will progress. The harder the test, the better. You graduate in more glory. Those Olympians, they try very hard. They go through a lot of training which we ordinary people would just give up in two days. It's not that they become stars over night. You know how they're trained, don't you?. Sometimes they have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning, go through ice and all this while we are sleeping and having a lazy life. But then we don't become a star. Even movie stars, they train very hard - those who are really exceptional. For example, there is a movie in Hong Kong about Jacky Chen - the boxing director and also star of Hong Kong - a movie about his life. When he was young, he was given away by his parents. His mother perhaps could not take care of so many children, because of a poor family or something. So he was given away to the teacher. When you are given away in that situation, your mother doesn't complain. You die or you live with the teacher. The teacher can do anything to you. Legally he is not responsible for anything, that happens with students. They're trained very hard, oh my God. He even bent their bodies into V or T-shape. At a young age it's easier to train children. They had to bend, and jump. They had to go through a lot of hard training. That's why when you see his movie now, it's real. He really jumps, he really bends, he really kicks around. He really practiced, so he really is worth his art. He never uses a stunt man. He always does all the dangerous scenes himself. That's why people like him so much, because he is very genuine. He was born poor, not very poor. But then he stayed together with those poor children under his teacher's protection and teaching. They grew up together. All of them became accomplished movie star themselves. But they went through, wow, training. I saw the children. You'd shed tear to see how they were treated. It's not that the teacher did not love them. But it's just the way it had to be. They grew up to become accomplished stars of Hong Kong and even internationally. That was because of the teacher had treated them so hard and trained them so rigorously, even adults could not bear it. Sometimes they had to go through being hungry and thirsty because the teacher punished them. Children sometimes they're mischievous, they go out and forget to come home, or something like that. The teacher punished them, let them go hungry for one day. And they would go and steal some food from next door. Then get bitten, bleeding. This movie is very touching. Not because of the life of the children only but the relationship between the teacher and the student. It is very very nice. Some movies are not only movies, they are really educational in nature. |
